Amrit Yoga is an engaging Hatha Yoga journey created for
all levels. Referred to as the Posture of Consciousness, Amrit Yoga
consists of breathing exercises, twenty-six classic yoga postures,
meditation/inward focus between postures, and deep relaxation. Marcia
calls this style of yoga her home base as a teacher and student.
Classical Hatha Yoga focuses on relaxation, breathing, and traditional yoga asanas (poses). All poses are held for five or more breaths to encourage mindfulness and meditation within each pose. This class is suitable for students of all levels as the poses can be easily modified to suit the individual’s needs.
Hathalini Yoga is a switch-up blend of classic Hatha postures and highly effective and spirited Kundalini breathwork, movement, and meditations. Each class is tailored to the needs of the students.
Kundalini Yoga is an ancient and synergistic form of yoga practiced for centuries in India and the East. It is dynamic, richly informative, and powerful to experience, creating for the practitioner a strong understanding of the mind-body connection. Kundalini class at our studio follows in the tradition of Yogi Bhajan.
Lunchtime Yoga is an all-levels class that moves, stretches, and strengthens the body to prepare it for the challenges of the afternoon.
Sunnysoul Yoga is a Hatha-based, mid-day class for tuning in to physical and emotional needs to help practitioners get through the rest of the day. Sarah guides her students in this class through gentle, yet motivating strengthening and relaxing yoga postures and energy techniques. She adjusts each class to meet the needs of her students, promoting inner sunshine and peace.
Sivananda Yoga is one of the world's largest schools of yoga. This class begins with relaxation and is followed by breathing exercises. Up to twelve classic yoga postures are then explored, with modifications for all levels thoroughly explained. Class ends with relaxation.
Super Seven Happy Hour Yoga is a $7 class consisting of ample amounts of music, yoga movement, and fun. It's a healthy happy hour and sets the tone for super great weekends; the teacher in this class will often practice right along with the students.
Vinyasa Yoga is open to all levels, appropriate for beginners, intermediate, and more advanced yogis. The class is taught to the middle level with modifications and support provided to beginners as well as more advanced options given for more seasoned practitioners. The Vinyasa style of yoga links the breath with a flow of poses and is motion-inspired.
World Music Brunchtime Yoga brings to the studio wide-ranging world music playlists. African and Afro-Caribbean pop, American pop and rock, and Western classical genres comprise just some of the goodness on this brunchtime menu.
Yang Yoga evolved in part from the traditions of Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong. Yang Yoga sequences can be graceful, slow-moving, and concentration-oriented, and they can also be quite dynamic and strengthening-focused. Postures in the Yang Yoga tradition look very little like Indian Yoga traditions and add a huge breadth and depth to the yoga repertoire.
Yin Yoga offers practitioners the opportunity to experience a quiet practice. From meditative to restorative to therapeutic, Yin postures are held for several minutes at a time and target the areas of the body that age quickly and cause most pain: knees, hips, pelvis, and the entire back.
Yin-Yang Yoga (or Chinese or Taoist Yoga) is a class that provides both strength-building (Yang) and flexibility-gaining (Yin) sequences. The Yang portion is based in Tai-Chi and Qi-Gong traditions while the Yin portion draws on floor (or chair) Hatha Yoga postures held for several minutes at a time. Yang is for muscles. Yin is for connective tissue, bones, and joints.
Yoga Blend is a spontaneously created class based purely on attendees’ needs and wants. Focus and exercises can come from any of the above styles.
