Studio Closes Temporarily
Since we posted Tuesday morning our strategy to keep everyone attending classes at Pink Lotus healthy and safe (see 3/10 statement below), the following news has broken, which has led to our decision to do our part and close the studio temporarily. Studio Closes Temporarily
Since we posted Tuesday morning our strategy to keep everyone attending classes at Pink Lotus healthy and safe (see 3/10 statement below), the following news has broken, which has led to our decision to do our part and close the studio temporarily. We will post here, send emails, and post on social media updates including our reopen date. --Marcia, Founder and Director
- On Wednesday, The World Health Organization announced a global pandemic.
- Yesterday, The Ohio Department of Health announced that given well-tracked statistics, it is likely 100,000 Ohioans already have the virus and that every six days, the number of cases will double.
- Yesterday, Governor DeWine announced the closure of all schools in the state of Ohio for at least three weeks starting Monda. Further, he banned groups of more than 100 people from gathering (exception for religious purposes).
- Many local businesses and organizations are now closing for the time-being and adjusting schedules.
- Today, Trump declared a national state of emergency.

Following the announcement on March 9th about the first three cases of the Coronavirus in Ohio—all three in Cuyahoga County—the staff
at Pink Lotus Yoga wants to assure you we are taking the following steps to keep our studio the healthy and smart community that it is:
- Doubling up on our regular cleaning and disinfecting schedule
- Disinfecting public/common touch points regularly before, between, and after classes (door knobs, sinks, faucets, etc.)
- Offering antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer gel and spray, and tissue stations throughout the studio
- Checking students into class rather than offering a self-check in (via a public-use device screen) option
- Temporarily removing guest mats from use (please bring your own)
- Minimizing the use of props
- Wipe down your mat with our disinfecting mat spray after use
- Use a disinfectant spray on props you use
- Dispose of tissues immediately after use in our trash receptacles
- Wash your hands with our anti-bacterial soap or use our hand sanitizer after class
- Keep a healthy physical distance from other students and the staff
- Do not come to the studio if you are sick or are not feeling well
- Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water
- Avoid touching your face: eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cover all coughs and sneezes
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched items and surfaces, such as phones and door knobs, with a disinfectant of at least 60% alcohol content
- Boost your immune system through healthy eating, vitamins, immune-boosting herbs, regular exercise, and mindful meditation
- Practice what yoga you can, for its health benefits are many
