Currently on our Schedule:
Our flagship class is Amrit Yoga, a 90-minute Hatha Yoga class taught on Sundays at 8:15 a.m. and which Marcia has been teaching steadily since 2004. In the words of Andrea, a long-time Amrit Yoga student, "It starts with an inspiring chant which (loosely translated) means: 'May our practice today bring us from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, and from a time bound sense of consciousness to an immortal state of being. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.Om peace, peace, peace.' Amrit Yoga has enriched my life in so many powerful ways, but most importantly by giving me the ability to find my calm in any chaos. Thank you Marcia. Thank you Pink Lotus Yoga!" —Andrea from Bedford (yes, I drive all the way across town for this. It’s that worth it!)
Basics: This class teaches foundation-building postures yogis practice all their lives. For beginners and those who desire to take their practice down a notch or to reboot their practice.
Beginning/Gentle Vinyasa ("Flow") Yoga: For the student who wants to learn the flowing motion style of Modern American Yoga and has some experience with yoga and other body movement exercise activities.
Gentle: Any class listed as 'gentle' takes a slower, more luxurious tack with time for breath work and meditative moments.
Hatha: We offer several styles of Hatha Yoga. Distinct yogic exercises in Hatha class varies from style to style and can include centering, breathing exercises, Sun Salutations, postures (standing, balancing, twisting, frontfolding, backbending, inversions, and sitting), final relaxation, and sometimes meditation. The class structure is built on the ancient paradigm of yoga’s eight major components, or ‘limbs’, and throughout provides students the opportunity to yoke their practice with high-level awareness. All levels welcomed; teachers help modify and offer variety. Props are used in certain styles of Hatha Yoga. We offer Amrit Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, and Hatha Yoga blend classes as well as a blended all-levels and intermediate class (Hatha I/II).
Morning Yoga Blend: We slowly but surely awaken the body, breath, mind, and energetic self in these early morning classes.Perfect for students at all levels.
Vinyasa: Also known as ‘flow yoga,’ this style premiers one of the eight major components of yoga, the yoga posture itself. The posture is explored not through body/mind stillness and depth but, rather, through movement. Vinyasa can range from gentle/slow to fitness-rigorous. We recommend students are familiar with this style or know basic yoga postures before taking Vinyasa classes.
Weekend Wind-down: This class is Restorative Yoga in nature. Ends the weekend on a fabulously relaxing note and get us ready for the week to come.
Yin: An all-levels class promoting a still body and mind. Floor postures are held for several minutes and target the body’s joints and connective tissue. Yin Yoga opens, strengthens, and provides relief to knees, hips, pelvis, shoulders, neck, and back, where our bodies take much stress. Yin is highly therapeutic and quiet in nature and attracts everyone from athletes to meditators. In the long span of time postures are held, the practitioner can take journeys following with breath, body sensation, mantra, and more. Yin Yoga dives deep into the yin body to help it heal through improved energy flow.
Yoga 101: Beginners' Yoga: Our highly trained instructors encourage questions and discussion while presenting yoga basics: breathing exercises, postural education, conscious relaxation, brief yoga history and philosophy, and good form. In Yoga 101, we explore classic yoga postures and different ways to get into and hold them effectively, experiment with props, and become comfortable with the yoga studio 'scene.' Because our studio floor is small, we offer a strong focus on individualized instruction
Yoga Nidra: Guided, deep relaxation. Nidra means 'sleep,' and this practice is one of the most effective yet least explored yoga techniques for helping you renew yourself in body, mind, and heart. Different from unconscious sleep, Yoga Nidra helps you channel your mind and thus reprogram your life.

Other Classes in our Portfolio:
Weekend Morning Sadhana: This class is for those who want a practice for the mind, body, and mental focus. ‘Sadhana’ means daily spiritual practice, and weekend mornings are a great day for that since sadhana will keep you present and appreciating the moment, not wishing it were Friday and not anticipating Monday and the coming week. WMS class consists of intentions, pranayama, mantra, meditation, sun salutations, and a variety of postures that promote tapas (energy and discipline) for strengthening both body and mind. Deep relaxation ends every class.
Yin and Mini-Vini: A blended class of Yin and Vinyasa styles. While our other dual-style classes split the class time in half, visiting each style for half the time, in Yin and Mini-Vini, you will be moving from Yin to Vinyasa and back again the entire class; long-held Yin postures are followed by brief bursts of Vinyasa Yoga (see above). The result is heightened awareness about how, with repetition and discipline in our practice, we are able to quickly change our body’s chi (prana, life force), which brings great health.
Yin and Hatha ('Yin-Ha'): A creative blended class of Yin Yoga and Hatha Yoga, one of our studio's favorite mash-ups.
Yin and Vinyasa ('Yinyasa') Yoga: A class with half the time devoted to Vinyasa Yoga and the other half Yin Yoga
Yang Yoga: Derived from various martial arts traditions as well as Vinyasa Yoga (see above), Yang Yoga sequences are imagistic, rooted in story, and are free-flowing in nature. Yang Yoga is designed to build muscle strength, endurance, and disciplined attention to mindful, often circular movement.
Yindalini Yoga: A fantastic blend of exotic Indian Yoga and therapeutic Chinese-inspired Yoga. Practice both movement of breath, body, and esoteric energy followed by stillness and stillness of body followed by movement.
Yin and Yang Yoga: A class with half the time devoted to Yin Yoga and the other half Yang Yoga
Yinyasa Yoga: A class with half the time devoted to Yin Yoga and the other half Vinyasa Yoga.
